ABOUT ME

I have liked taking pictures as long as I can remember. When I was 18 I was given a Praktika SLR camera and a Sigma zoom lens, which really ignited my passion for photography. I loved learning to shoot in manual mode, controlling all of the settings myself, then taking rolls of 35mm film to Boots for developing and waiting to see the results.

Having chosen a different career path years later I returned to photography with a college course, where I learnt to develop black and white film and how that process translates to digital techniques. I set up a home studio and began shooting portraits. Having discovered that was what I really enjoyed I was encouraged to start shooting weddings.  This was something I had always avoided as the responsibility for nailing the shots of somebody's big day seemed  far too stressful. However, turns out that's what I love about it and my hobby ended up becoming my job!

YOUR LOVE
YOUR STORY

Weddings are great fun to be at. I love getting to know couples and becoming friends, meeting your family and your guests. It's great being able to immerse myself in your big day and capture your love and your story in pictures.  I now use the Canon camera system, carrying an EOS 5D mk iv DSLR and an EOS R6 mk ii mirrorless along with a range of professional lenses. At weddings I always have a spare third camera body with me too, just in case!

When I'm not shooting weddings and portraits I love spending time with my family and our slightly mad chocolate labrador.  My wife and I love travelling and exploring new places, which also allows me the chance to engage in some street photography, looking for those interesting candid moments. A bit like weddings! I like too much coffee, red wine and cheese as well as being partial to particularly hot curries. I also do a bit of freelance work for charities around adult social care and learning disability in support of local carers.

I am a member of a number of photography trade organisations and groups including the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers, The Master Photographers Association and The Royal Photographic Society.

May this be
the beginning of
a beautiful friendship
